It’s been awhile…a long while. I’ve missed this space. Work, and life, and volunteering, and work, and life, and well, you get the picture. All of it stole my attention, broke me out of my routine, and kept me from sharing with all of you. As Macklemore says though, “You know I’m back, like I never left.”
Spring is in full swing here and summer is right around the corner which means its strawberry season!!! Strawberries are one of my all time favorites. Not the hard, slightly green, barely sweet, and a bit sour ones you find at the grocery store, but the deep red, soft, juicy ones that come straight from the farm. I’m salivating just typing this!
I had every intention of going to our favorite u-pick farm last weekend and spending a couple of hours with the kids picking and eating straight from the field, mother nature had other plans. It rained, and rained, and rained some more. Not wanting to miss the season I drove out to one of my favorite farm stands today and bought a full flat.
Strawberries are amazing just as they are. Eating half a flat all by myself is definitely a feat I’ve tackled a time or two. Sometimes it’s nice to jazz them up a bit though. This is one of the most simple ways to do that and I promise, it is delicious.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Strawberries, farm fresh preferred
Sour Cream
Brown Sugar
Rinse strawberries under cool, running water and let drain. Put a small amount of sour cream on a plate. Sprinkle a generous amount of brown sugar on the plate too.
Dip the strawberry in the sour cream and then roll in the brown sugar. Enjoy!
