There is a lot that goes into making a house a home. If asked, most people would rattle off things like family photos, a comfortable place to rest and relax, the familiar smell of a favorite meal being cooked in the kitchen. While all three of these are important, I wholeheartedly believe that one of the most important ingredients in making a house feel like home is the community the house is in. The familiar sights, sounds, smells, people, and places lend so much to the feeling of home. Lane County is a truly special place, filled with passionate, generous, hardworking people that love their community.
Starting Friday, November 27th and running through Wednesday, December 23rd, I’ll be highlighting a different, small local business every day on my social media channels. These businesses are the ones you regularly see contributing to the silent auction at your favorite charity or providing free meals to our neighbors in need. The pandemic has put a strain of many of these businesses. I hope this encourages you to seek them out, show them some love, and buy local this holiday season.
